Many online GIF makers hide useful controls behind an upload queue or generate the file before you can inspect it. ToGIF keeps the workflow visible: choose a clip, set its start and end time, select a quality preset, inspect individual frames, and preview the animation before downloading it.
The project focuses on short clips for chat, issue reports, documentation, tutorials, reactions, and social posts. It is deliberately small and direct, with no account requirement and no library of uploaded videos.
How browser-based conversion works
Frame-level editing
After extraction, frames can be reordered or removed. Reverse, boomerang, loop, speed, FPS, width, color, palette, and dithering controls help balance motion and file size.
Preview before download
The generated GIF appears as a local preview first. You can inspect the animation and regenerate it with different settings before saving the file.
Open media foundation
The converter is powered by FFmpeg through ffmpeg.wasm, bringing established media processing capabilities to a modern browser interface.
